Our Story

Yarn Over Ceveland is the product of driven fiber artists and dreams.  It all started in the fall of 2022, when Jessica (that's me) saw a Facebook post on a local community page inviting anyone who wanted to crochet or knit to meet up at the Rocky River Library. I had never heard such a thing- that people who crochet or knit, sit and stitch TOGETHER?! I thought we were supposed to do that alone! Upon arrival, I learned that this particular group had been meeting for 18 years at the time. Their leader was Donna Wetherill (still running things over there). After learning about Donna's need for more members, I offered to get the word out there on social media. Donna and members were excited at the prospects for more to join.  Before we knew it, we had more than we could handle and many more interested. With permission from Donna, I took the reins on promoting the group, with a new Facebook group, a new name, and the fresh energy and ideas to light a spark in the community.  Our operation continues to expand, adding more meeting locations, recruiting engaged members, and attracting community partners to fulfill our mission to help others by spreading joy and sharing talent.
